Job Description
CHIEF NURSING OFFICER needed at Nonprofit, Progressive Hospital with Strong Financials. 
 
  • Critical Access Hospital with 800 employees
  • Annually 5800 surgeries, 500 births and 15,000 ED visits
 
Nursing Department Responsibilities
  • Provides the vision, leadership, management and implementation of programs/services for Med Surg, ICU, Surgery, Obstetrics, Emergency, Anesthesia, Hospice, Home Health, Case Management, Chaplaincy, Cardiac Services, Infusion Services and Wound Care
  • Serves on the Administrative team with the CEO, CIO, CFO, Chief of Clinics, Chief of the Medical Staff and provides strategic input for nursing and the entire hospital
  • Direct reports include 6 Directors\Managers; 6 Nursing Shift Supervisors, 2 Case Managers and Quality Coordinator (PT)
  • Oversees 135 FTES; 243 employees 
Requirements
  • BSN
  • Masters in Nursing or (Masters in Healthcare or MBA with nursing background)
  • Current Iowa nursing license or eligible for  
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing management experience in an acute/critical access hospital setting
  • Display a high level of positive and appropriate interpersonal skills with hospital staff, physicians, patients and their families
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities
  • Ability to embrace and lead change within the organization
  • Financial acumen and ability to interpret financial and data analysis
  • Highly developed problem solving, written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission preferred
