Job Description
Our food manufacturing client has an opening for a Quality Manager in the Worthington, Minnesota area. This QA Manager will be responsible for all product safety, quality and regulatory compliance for the manufacturing plant.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or related; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years food manufacturing QA Management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and computer software functions.
  • Accomplished analytical and organizational skills required.
  • Previous supervisory experience appropriate.
  • Background in a food grade manufacturing facility strongly.
Job Summary: The QA Manager has responsibility for overall product safety, quality and regulatory compliance of the plant. This includes the development and implementation of a preventative quality system, specification compliance, operator training and development, quality testing, product labeling, customer complaints and all quality related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and decipher documents such as safety rules, functioning and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively document all process parameters and bring any deviations, including food safety problems, to supervisor’s attention.
  • Complete special projects and other responsibilities as needed.
  • Reinforce with the education of production personnel in the monitoring of product quality.
  • Continue and advance all current quality assurance lab data system reports. Organize statistical analysis on production, lab and formula data.
  • Analyze and administer analytical results on customer complaints in a timely manner. Collaborate with customers as needed to complaint investigation and resolution. Professionally illustrate MSG on quality matters with vendors and customers.
  • Engage, direct, coach, lead and oversee all QA personnel constantly raising the standard of performance.
  • Authorize quality assurance specifications for finished products, in process testing and ingredients and ensure that these specifications are met and adhere to by production personnel.
  • Achieve and oversee the company’s Quality Assurance Program at the facility.
